Wilson’s Promontory  23rd – 24th March 2019

Located on the East Coast of Victoria, with picturesque views through bushland, along cliff tops, to lookouts of the most beautiful white sand beaches in the world.

This hike is overnight with each hiker taking their food, water, cooking essentials, sleeping gear, weather requirement clothing, hats etc.
Each hiker is wear comfortable hiking shoes/trail runners to ensure their feet are protected, so you are able to comfortably walk the distance required.

This is the agenda for each day:

Day 1. Telegraph Saddle – Sealers Cove – Little Waterloo Bay: 24.2km

Day 3: Little Waterloo Bay to Telegraph Saddle: 12.3km

Trail notes:

Sealers Cove (9.5km from trailhead)

  • Sealers Cove is a picturesque, circular cove boasting glassy turquoise water, golden sand and a shady campground.
  • Sealers Cove is accessible via the Telegraph Saddle to Sealers Cove Track.
  • Sealers Cove is also accessible as part of an extended Southern Prom Hike 
  • There is a campground and toilets at Sealers Cove.

Little Waterloo Bay (24.2km from trailhead)

  • Little Waterloo Bay is only accessible by foot from the overnight hike track from Tidal River.
    When you get there you will be rewarded with a lovely white sand beach and crystal blue water. There is a camping area with basic facilities.
  • Group will stay Friday night in accomodation near the beginning of the track to start walking early Saturday, after staying on the track Saturday night at the campsite, the group will finish the walk Sunday by midday and return back home, ready for another week back in reality.
  • Perfect mini getaway in Mother Nature’s playground..
    $220 pp which includes – ($60 deposit to secure your place).

    – Friday night accomodation before the walk commences

    – Saturday night camp fee
    – admin fee for organization of the walk

    Each hiker must supply their own food for the walk, water, and I will help organise the distribution of sharing the cooking utensils, so as we can all share the load.
    I will give each hiker a checklist so as they can be prepared for the walk.

    Transport to and from Wilson’s Promontory is not included, all hikers will organise their own way there, or car pooling will be available as well.

    The Sealers Cove loop is a solid 35.5kms (or 40.4kms if you walk back to Tidal River), which means a  certain level of fitness and experience in overnight hiking will serve you well.
    As it’s a popular hike, the campgrounds get very busy, so we need to be responsible and take our rubbish with us.
    Drinking water is located at each of the main overnight hiking campsites, as are drop toilets.
