Choosing what’s right for you.
I cannot believe how many programs and challenges are available on the market nowadays, but the scary thing is how legit are these and what is best for you?
After reading “The Calorie Myth” by Jonathon Bailor, I couldn’t help but quote a section from his book:
‘There is no pill, product, or service that comes close to providing the health and physique benefits you will get from eating so many non-starchy vegetables, nutrient dense protein, and whole food fats that you are too full for starches and sweets.’
‘Why do I say this? At least 95% of people avoided obesity and over 99% avoided diabetes for all human history before “fat free” existed. Remember slim is simple, but there is a massive amount of money to be made in convincing us otherwise.
Until we achieve baseline health and fitness, anything or anyone who makes avoiding obesity and disease seem more complex than eating more but higher-quality food, and doing less but higher-quality exercise, should be ignored. Otherwise, we will end up heavier, sicker, and with less money in the long term.’
‘Just as putting high-quality food into our body dramatically enhances our ability to reach our goals, putting high-quality thoughts into our mind dramatically enhances our ability to reach our goals, too.’
The health and fitness industry is growing day by day – week by week. I really believe people do have to start looking after themselves and become more accountable. I also want people to understand that there is no miracle pill out there, that what really matters is real food.
To see so many products out there is overwhelming for me, so I could only imagine what it would be for people that do not live and breathe nutrition and health – but want to start improving their health and lifestyle.
My advice to you all is to make sure you seek help from a qualified person that actually talks to you.
Don’t fill in boxes and then press submit, this is not the screening you should do prior to taking on a fitness or health program. Your health is more important than that.
Your most success transformation is to find a health coach or health professional that you can talk to and discuss your history as well as your vision.
To be able to plan a program to meet your lifestyle, budget and needs is money well spent, as opposed to being placed in a box along with other people, that don’t have the same body type as you, do not work shift work like you might and paying the upgraded deal, which still is not going to be suited to you.
For example – it you have adrenal fatigue and are not aware of this, entering into a program that requires you to train hard 4 times a week at a high intensity, then have a diet that doesn’t give you the correct supplements, vitamins and minerals to help your adrenal fatigue, all you have done is placed your body under more stress and your health will deteriorate instead of getting better and losing weight like you wanted to – it’ll make you sicker and fatter just like Jonathon explains in his book.
A healthy diet is not accomplished on a 7 or 14 day plan . It is a long term commitment to changing bad habits and eating differently.
For many people out there when you are looking for a new car or a new house, I honestly believe you do research on the safety of the car or the construction of the house before you buy it – so then therefore why wouldn’t you do the same for your own health.
Please do not go by advice from someone on social media by the amount of likes or followers they have.
Do not choose your next health program based on ‘buy it now and save $’ (your health is worth everything).
Choose a health plan that suits you and you only, invest in an individual plan that you know is designed for you. Forget the fads, choose a health professional that suits you and has your health in their best interests – seriously how much can a standard package program help you?
I give guidance to peoples help concerns, however if they require further medical advice I refer to a practitioner in medicine or naturopathics.
