Week of Wayne 6 – Nutrition and the misleading marketing.



Those that knew Wayne knew he had a close relationship with food…

 

We grew up with Weight Watchers and other ridiculous diets throughout our teenage years.
We lived the ‘fat free’ era for years, and as we all know now, this is the biggest mess to our health ever!!!

We were mislead to believe that eating fat makes you fat, but now we see that after years of this bullshit, no one is skinny much less healthy from eating low fat or fat free products.

I highlight daily how these processed foods, full of crap, vegetable oils, sugars, preservatives, and additives that were put into the food to make it taste palatable (due to the fat component taken out), have ruined our health and relationship with food.

People are aware of the dangers of sugars, and even the artificial sugars that are replacing the natural sugars, just so that the marketing companies can advertise ‘low sugar’.

As I wrote about last year the post on Wayne and his Pepsi Max addiction, this was one post that really hit home with many people.


The artificial sugars are foreign objects in our body, we were not made to break these chemicals down, and so therefore these man made chemicals break our bodies down, as in cell damage, we break down from the inside-out.

Wayne was certainly addicted to the processed foods, because they too are man made, with ingredients that make you want more.

Companies make food to increase their profits, not to help your health, and the most disgusting thing is that they market it as if they do care – THEY DON’T!

How can it be that they make a product with the likes of vegetable, sunflower or canola oil, plus all the numbers (artificial flavours) in them, knowing that these products cause cell damage.

They create free radicals, which is where the cells are killed off, and when you have an abundance of damaged or dead cells, your body gets inflamed because they realise there is something wrong.

This inflammation is a stress on the body, then causing the body to stay in a fight-and-flight situation, as it’s trying to settle and heal the body (on the inside).

This is invisible to us, but the body being a smart organ, sends signals to you in symptoms, such as headaches, insomnia, brain fog, low energy, no periods, back aches, knee aches, carpal tunnel, indigestion, heartburn, constipation, diarrhea and many more..

But the food tastes good right! The message on the box or container says it’s healthy, ‘high in protein’, ‘low in sugar’, or ‘low in salt’ – it says it’s paleo etc.



I am devastated how these products can get on the self – I cringe when a “health professional” advocates margarine – margarine is ONE molecule off PLASTIC. How can this be natural for our cells/bodies!



My call out today is to understand that prepackaged foods contain loads of vegetable oils and other man made crap to help the shelf life of a product. It’s basically to make more money FULL STOP.

It’s about you being the consumer to look at the packets, read the ingredients – go past the nutritional table – this gives you nothing really – it’s the ingredients that matter.

Manufacturers can get away with certain things such as listing an ingredient under ‘natural flavours’ and sugar as ‘agave’ (and many others) and the nutritional table will not reflect this.

1. Check the ingredients – make sure there is no more than five ingredients.

2. The ingredients are listed highest to lowest – if sugar is listed first, that means the product is mainly sugar, then it may list wheat, sugar cane, flaxseeds, dates, vanilla paste, almonds etc

This shows that there is 5 different sweeteners in this product – no wonder you love it!!!

3.Do not purchase anything with vegetable, canola, sunflower oils – the way these oils are hydrogenated causes damages to your cells, and when reheated this causes even more damage.

Choose olive oil coconut oil, pure butter, ghee, avocado oil or tallow to cook instead.

4. Fresh is best – choose fresh ingredients so that you get the fibre content, the vitamins, minerals and other nutrients that your cells know and can process, without causing damage.


5. When you are advised to use butter – purchase the block butter, not the spreadable butter – this has vegetable oils in it!


Think – if it is made ‘easy to use’ it’s going to be tampered by man, and there are additives in the products.


I understand these packaged foods are great for on the go, and the YouFoodz and other similar companies make it easy for you all, but they are again not looking after your health, they contain the hydrogenated oils and preservatives to help taste and shelf life.

 

They are cooked and then put straight into plastic containers, (plastic will seep into your food), then sealed with plastic at a high temperature, then you are directed to heat them up in their plastic containers in a microwave (this makes me cry!).

You have just loaded your body with cell damaging hydrogenated oils and trace plastics!

 

This is causing havoc inside your body.



Wayne lived off fast food – I always heard him rustling through packets of foods. Not to say this alone caused his tumor to surface, but it certainly did not help his cells to flourish on the inside.

As full on as this may sound, this is my mission to help others understand the importance of fresh produce, to slow down and take the time to prepare meals, to sit and eat a meal, to look after yourself.

Eating on the go, with food made up by chemicals is not being kind to your body, so therefore when it’s mismanaged, it will get sick, and in Wayne’s case he got pancreatic cancer.

I hope you are mindful of the decisions you make each day/week. It’s not about being perfect, it’s about cutting down on the crap!!!
