‘Toned’ is not what muscles do.
 
MUSCLES EITHER GROW OR SHRINK!
 
Don’t get caught up in the bullshit media marketing when they try to sell you a program that uses the word ‘toned’ in it.
 
Women come to me and say they want to ‘tone up’, but you need to realise that what you are saying is that you would like to grow your muscles and get rid of the excess body fat around those muscles.
 
This takes good consistent weight training and good nutrition that your body needs along with adequate rest and sleep.
 
If you can focus on the above and not go for the bullshit you are sold, with 5/6 times a week HIIT training that can burn you out, making bad food choices and disrupting your sleep – then your goal of looking more aesthetic will be on track.
 
Please let go of the ‘6 week shredded challenges’ that lead to weight regain… be smart! Give your body time to adapt, grow, and nourish.

Working individually with a qualified and experienced trainer can help you achieve your goals, stick to a training program that is suited to you and your lifestyle, lifting heavy but within safe standards to help grow your muscle.

I work with women through their menstrual cycle, targeting the weeks that protein synthesis signals are optimal, and then know the weeks to stay away from HIIT training whilst the ligaments are loose and the tendons are tight (can cause injury).
Being smart with the individuals training has always allowed them to have success in their strength training program.
