Tomato and Oregano salad

* my family favourite, great side salad

tomato and oregano

Tomatoes – as many as you like
oregano fresh or dried
Olive oil
Salt and pepper

 

 

 

Method


Cut up tomatoes in medium size chunks
Add as much oregano as you like, pepper and salt.
Drizzle with olive oil

This is great on its own with some sourdough bread or have it with grilled chicken or lean steak.

My Nonna made this every summer when tomatoes were in season, with their beautiful fresh smell and taste.
The Italians keep their salads very simple, and I believe that is best, don’t complicate your salads and add heaps of produce together, as sometimes you then miss the flavors.
