Healthy levels of melanin will help your skin tan instead of burn.
Melanin downregulation if you are out in the sun and you wear sunglasses because one of the triggers for melanin to be produced to protect you from the sun is a trigger when the photons of light hit your retina, and so if you are wearing sunglasses outside on a bright sunny day you are more likely to burn and less likely to tan and less likely to harness appreciable amounts of vitamin D from sunlight through wearing sunglasses.
Wearing sunglasses to protect from sun blasting – like driving a car or snowboarding etc where it’s a glare.
The pineal gland secretes melatonin in the presence of darkness – so be careful of bright light exposure at night reduces that melatonin production.
Adequate amount of light in daylight enhances the activity of the pineal gland later on at night.
Try to not wear your sunglasses as much and turn bright lights off at night.
